Exquicyd Cakes is a home bakery located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. It is owned and operated by Cyd Sterba, a female entrepreneur.
It all started with a neighbor's recipe in Darlington, Indiana. My mom and grandma always made these amazing cinnamon bundt coffee cakes (which is now my signature cake). In 2012, I shared one at Christmas with my co-workers. It was a hit! Over the next couple of years, I continued to bring a cake in at the holidays. The Chairman's assistant told me that he absolutely loved the cake! The next Christmas I surprised him with his own personal cake, which he carried to his office like a football tucked under his arm. He told me for the next couple of years that I really needed to start selling them. He and his wife are now my biggest fans!
My recipe was golden. I started looking into packaging. I needed something that would keep them fresh from the time they left the kitchen until they reached the customers' hands. Then if they were left uneaten for more than a couple of days (which rarely happens), I wanted them in a sealed container instead of your typical pink/white bakery box. Those drive me crazy! I also spent time researching the best bundt cake pans.
In 2016, I started small by selling mostly at Christmas and during the year to friends and family. I then realized I needed a nice packaging option for gifts and shipping the cakes. I settled on platinum tins, which make perfect gifts and keeps them fresh and protected during shipping.
In 2018, I started getting a lot of requests for gluten-free cakes. I researched and added gluten-free options as well, which taste just as delicious! I also opened my Etsy shop. When COVID hit my orders started increasing. People weren't in offices so companies sent corporate gifts instead. In early 2021, I started adding more flavors including buttermilk pound cakes, chocolate cakes and more. Based on requests, I add new flavors for more variety.
People just love eating, sharing and gifting my cakes! I love that my cakes make people so happy.

Looking for gluten-free? All cakes are available gluten-free and just as yummy! Just ask! In order to avoid cross-contamination, I use dedicated pans, utensils, etc. for all gluten-free cakes.
